In 2021 I worked with Chisenhale Art Place – home to Chisenhale Dance Space, Chisenhale Gallery and Chisenhale Studios in east London. The organisations commissioned this evaluation to explore responses to their ‘Summer of Art’ programme, and to ask broader questions about the role of Chisenhale Art Place in the locality. Drawing upon our lived experience as local residents, I collaborated with my partner Dan Weill and young children as co-evaluators to experiment with the idea of a family-centered evaluation. We took part in the Summer of Art programme, documented activity and spoke to dozens of participant families about their experiences and their perceptions of Chisenhale Art Place.

Lovely words!…
”I wanted to personally thank you for your work on the evaluation. It is a crucial piece of research for us, and I'm astonished by how ambitious it is. Your presence over the summer brought a focus and coherence to the programme, and I feel fortunate to have been able to work with you so early in my Chisenhale career.” Seth Pimlott, Producer: Local and Online Audiences, Chisenhale Gallery
