Great Ormond Street Hospital Arts
Great Ormond Street Hospital houses a collection of over 350 art works displayed around the hospital’s buildings – including site specific installations, sculptures, digital commissions and historical and contemporary framed art.
I am currently working with Head of Arts Kate Phillimore at GOSH Arts to evaluate how patients and their families experience the art collection at the hospital. We have developed child-friendly surveys and carried out interviews with young people, staff and parents to understand whether the art makes a difference to patients’ experience of the hospital and what more people would like to see from the collection.
The findings will help inform the collection’s future development and plans for art works in the hospital’s new Children’s Cancer Centre.
