In 2024 I worked on a year-long evaluation consultancy commission with New Town Culture, a pioneering programme curated by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham to develop artistic and cultural activity as a core part of social care services. My brief was to work with arts and social care practitioners and young people and adults involved in New Town Culture to develop new approaches to evaluation that are trauma informed, child centred and creative. I developed a framework and recording methods that aim to reveal the learning from New Town Culture’s approach and provide meaningful ways of reflecting participant and practitioner experiences.
